Hercules and the Hunter

Which one is Hercules and which one is the Hunter or does it matter. There is a little bit of the Hunter in our very nature. Hercules is a mythical character that led to all the super heros we see in movies and comics. From Superman to Wonder woman we are intrigued and entertained by these super heros. They exsist in real life. They can't leap tall buildings in a single bound or stop bullets, however they show up when needed. Olympic heroes, sports heroes and best of all those who step up to the plate when disasters such as earthquaikes and floods threaten us and those who work to end world hunger and acheive peace.

Front Man

New Painting of Mickey Mouse in a bright ring master's costume in front of 2 clowns shyly waiting for their turn to perform. Why do we all need a front man to do the job of promoting and introducing us? Why can't we be both the performer and the front man? Why can't we blow are own horn? If you do something you are proud of, shout it out. It's easy to promote and sell something someone else has made, but so hard to promote and sell something we made ourself.

Reflections in Red

Red is quickly becoming my favourite colour. I love the boldness it portrays. This painting of a shiny red bell reflects and distorts the checkerboard background. The dice it is sitting on echoes the black and red sqares in the background. The roundness of the single bell stands out as everything else in the painting is angular. I need to buy more red paint.

Canadian Politics-The Game

Original 11 X 14 acrylic painting on Gallery wrap canvas
Politicians to me generally come off as clowns, playing games, they seem to discuss the discussion rather than the business at hand, more interested in their image than there legacy. Ever notice that great leaders are generally described as statesmen rather than politicians.

Great Expectations

Original 14 X 11 Painting acrylic on canvas
No Matter what our expectations there are almost always jokers in the deck. This does not make it impossible to reach our expectations, it only creates side trips requiring flexibility and a little plan changing along the way. Enjoy the side trips they are usually better than the expectation.

Above it All

Original 16 X 16 painting of the cow as a hero looking down on the barnyard. Is it arrogance or the desire to watch out for and protect his farm mates that makes the bovine super hero look down on others?

Boy's Night Out

Original 11 X 14 Acrylic painting:
Fun and Games, possibly looking for more than there is and settling for less than is available. Perhaps we look in the wrong places, try to get there with the wrong people and bring with the wrong attitude.

Morning Break, Down at the Dairy

Acrylic painting on Gallery wrap canvas 11 X 14 inches.

How hard and how long we work for short breaks. How beautiful everything is around us if only we see it. The toy cow in this painting, works at a dairy, where else would a cow work. But we have choices, we can choose our destiny, but it is rare that we do.

Trick Pony

Acrylic on canvas 12 X 12 inches. This painting is of a diecast metal toy bank, It's called "Trick Pony" because it's a real trick to be able to save money in our economy. Add to this the irony of actually putting money into a horse. That's a form of gambling that rarely pays off.

Super Hero's

New Painting 16 X 12 acrylic on canvas. Depicts a toy robot and picture of Captain America taped to the wall.Super Hero's are figments of our imagination. It would be nice to believe that there are people around with super powers ready to save us as soon as we get into trouble. However we know that there are no such heros, or are there. Possibly we are all super heros with the power to save ourselves by applying ourselves to our problems and not giving up until we are where we want to be in life. O' What a Horse

O' What a Horse 10 X 8 painted in acrylic on canvas..We all search for ways to be in the spotlight often by showing off, which puts us at risk. The biggest risk is to be embarrassed. I would rather often be embarrassed than spend my life never stepping out of my comfort zone. We all can fly but not while we hold on.
